Restore the New York State Stem Cell Program

Last year, the Governor made the unfortunate decision to eliminate NYSTEM, New York State’s flagship investment in biomedical research despite the program’s contributions to a wide range of research, including advances that have helped in the fight against COVID-19. Now, with a new administration and with our state in a strong fiscal position, it is essential to urge our lawmakers to restore funding for this program at its prior level of $44.8 million and to support legislation to remove the legislative language that prevents any new grants from being awarded.
